Who am I? That is a question I have spent many years asking myself. Growing up in a broken and sometimes neglectful household, being an outcast at school, and not being “right” for my family. It was hard trying to find my place in the world. However, now, at 36 years old, I have a family, am writing my first book, and enjoy hobbies. It took me about 25 years to understand that if people don’t like me for who I am, they don’t need to be a part of my life.

So this leads to the question who am I?

I am strong.

I am resourceful.

I am ambitious.

I am a mother.

I am a wife.

I am a friend.

I am Fern.

That is who I am. All this and more. I will never be anyone other than me, no matter how much I wanted to be anyone else growing up. I love my life now, and though my past wasn’t the best, it made me who I am today.

So ask yourself the same question. Who am I?

I hope you like the answer as much as I do.
